Bead Soup Blog Party #4

My bead partner Christine Hendrickson of The Clay Chick, sent me a fun assortment of beads.
The dark brown ceramic ones Christine made herself.

I added very few beads to what she sent. I did add some brass beads for a mix of silver and brass and a silk ribbon of recycled silk. I made a brass hook for the necklace and used the silver toggle Christina sent in the bracelet. I didn't use the coin shaped shell beads from my soup but have a few ideas of what I am going to do with them.

    Two wonderful pieces, a great set! I love those warmly browns and reds, and in combination with the silk ribbon it becomes a unique piece of jewellery!

    I love how you just casually throw in, "I made a brass hook for the necklace"!!! I don't do any metal work, so that's really cool to me. Also the use of the silk ribbon, I love that. Both pieces are great, and that bracelet is really calling my name!

    I'm really digging your necklace. I'm not sure what it is about it that speaks so loudly to me, but I know that I would definitely wear it. I like that it has a rustic autumn feel to it. Well done!

    Love that "hot 'n spicy" colour combination. The fibre you added gives your necklace some wonderful texture... love that idea. This seems to be a really hot trend at the moment!
